Leadership Academy

The Leadership Academy is an extension of JAG’s classroom and workshop activities and takes place outside of the classroom, involving JAG students from across the state in various activities and conferences. The Leadership Development Conference which bring together the elected officers from each JAG class to learn specific tools that can be taken back to their schools. The Faces of JAG - Legislative Day which invites JAG students to visit the capitol to network with their elected officials, and see hands-on how state government operates.

The Career Development Conference, JAG's signature finale event which brings together all JAG students for a day of skill-based workshops, competitions, and a professional scholarship and awards luncheon. These events provide invaluable opportunities for JAG students to demonstrate the skills they are learning in JAG, network with JAG peers, and with our business and education partners.

JAG students credit the Leadership Academy events for getting them out of their comfort zone, challenging them to try new things and meet new people. It is one thing to learn about professional dress or public speaking in a classroom, it is another thing entirely to practice and demonstrate those skills in a large public venue, surrounded by potential employers and college partners.
