Over 800 students, volunteers, and guests will convene for two days filled with workshops, competitive events, and networking during the conference College & Career Expo. This two-day event will be hosted at the Mesa Convention Center, 263 N. Center Street, Mesa, Arizona 85201. See you at CDC!

COLLEGE, CAREER & COMMUNITY EXPO

We invite employer partners, education partners, and community resource partners to showcase their organizations and engage directly with students at the Career Development Conference's College, Career, & Community Expo.

What to Expect:

  • Exposure: Connect with approximately 700 students throughout the morning.
  • Networking: Engage with students interested in exploring career opportunities, further education options, and community resources.
  • Lunch: Enjoy lunch provided for each partner to fuel your networking efforts.

The College, Career & Community Expo (Resource Fair) will serve over 700 students throughout the conference day. Expo partners will provide resources, employment opportunities, and educational services to JAG students throughout the day.

IN-PERSON JUDGES

Make a difference by volunteering In-Person at our 2-day In-Person Career Development Conference on March 5th and 6th, 2024

Volunteer Details:

  • Event Location: 263 North Center Street Mesa, Arizona 
  • Dates and Times:
    • March 5th, 2024: 1:00 PM- 8:00 PM
    • March 6th, 2024:8:00 AM-2:00 PM
    • We’ve got you covered! Meals will be provided on both days of the event for all volunteers!
    • virtual training session will be scheduled before the event to provide all necessary instructions, ensuring you’re prepared for the role.

BE A WORKSHOP PRESENTER

We invite community partners to share their expertise and engage with JAG youth by facilitating workshops at the Career Development Conference. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of our students in key areas such as college and career readiness, character development, mental health, and civic engagement.

Workshop Details:

  • Event Date: April 11, 2024
  • Time: Workshops will be held between 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
  • Number of Workshops: Partners have the opportunity to facilitate 1 to 3 45-minute workshops
  • Location: Room details will be provided closer to the event date
  • Meal: Each workshop presenter will receive one meal per guest
  • Priority: JAG-sponsored companies will have priority, but all interested companies are encouraged to register
Career Development Conference Workshop

Workshop Expectations:

  • Topics: Focus on college and career readiness, character development, mental health, or civic engagement;
  • Registration: Please register below to express your interest in facilitating a workshop. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged;
  • Selection Process: Workshop selection will be based on availability and relevance to our students' needs and interests. If your workshop is not selected, there are other opportunities to volunteer at the conference.

BE A PANELIST

We invite professionals to serve as panelists at the Career Development Conference, where you'll have the opportunity to engage with students, share your experiences, and provide valuable insights.

Panel Details:

  • Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Arrival: Please arrive 15 minutes early to register before each round

Panel Topics:

  • Panel 1: Schools
    • Discuss your educational journey, including challenges, successes, and the impact of your schooling on your career path.
  • Panel 2: Career Pathways
    • Share insights into your career path, industry trends, and advice for students interested in pursuing similar paths.
  • Panel 3: Volunteering/Internships
    • Highlight the importance of volunteering and internships, share your experiences, and provide guidance on finding meaningful opportunities.

Panelist Expectations:

  • Engage with students in a dynamic discussion format
  • Share personal experiences and insights related to the panel topic
  • Provide guidance and inspiration to students as they explore their own paths

BE A VOLUNTEER FLOATER

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to serve as Volunteer Floaters at the Career Development Conference. As a Floater, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the event and providing assistance where needed.

Volunteer Floater Responsibilities may include:

  • Support with Set Up
  • Assist with various tasks throughout the conference venue
  • Provide support to workshop presenters, panelists, and exhibitors
  • Help direct attendees and answer questions
  • Ensure the overall success of the event by stepping in wherever assistance is required
