Peoria High School JAG Community Resource and Hiring Event a Success! 

Last month, the JAG students at Peoria High School hosted a Community Resource and Hiring Event that made a lasting impression on everyone who was part of it. The success of the event was made possible by the concerted efforts of dedicated individuals, and it is with immense gratitude that we extend our thanks to everyone who played a role in its organization and execution. 

We are grateful to our partners at Goodwill for helping to make this event a success! Special recognition is due to the dynamic duo of JAG Coordinators, Holly Holgate and Jonalyn Carmichael, who orchestrated a truly remarkable event team. Their leadership and commitment were instrumental in making the day happen. The Peoria High School JAG students demonstrated exceptional dedication and hard work throughout the event. Our partners at Goodwill will be acknowledging their efforts with well-deserved recognition certificates. 

Over 500 students had the opportunity to engage with representatives from 25 outstanding Arizona businesses. In the weeks leading up to the event, Goodwill Community Partners conducted My Career Advisor workshops, preparing over 230 JAG students to make a lasting impression on potential employers. Notably, 270 Peoria High School students from classes outside of the JAG program also benefited from interacting with Arizona employers and community partners. 

The generosity of our sponsors added a special touch to the event, and we extend our sincere thanks to Starbucks, Panera, Peter Piper Pizza, River Rentals, and Bosa Donuts for their contributions. 

The event saw the active participation of several esteemed partners, including; Canyon State Electric, BMO Financial, Habitat for Humanity, West-Mec, Sky Harbor Airport, AAA Landscaping, Ability 360, ASU Trio, Goodwill, Per Scholas, Allen School of Health, Arizona Biltmore Resort, Progressive Roofing, Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, ASU-Scholarship opportunities, VR Employment Experience, Marketing Rep/Recruiter IWRDTT, Southwest Airlines, NourishPhx, Credit Union West, Honeywell, Aspiring Youth, Vitalant, Phoenix Indian Center, Bajco Global Management and Papa Johns. 

As we reflect on the event's success, we are thrilled to announce our participation in the next Career event scheduled for the Spring of 2024. The Peoria High School and JAG Community Resource and Hiring Event was a triumph, thanks to the collective effort of dedicated individuals, supportive sponsors, and enthusiastic students. We look forward to continuing this momentum and creating more opportunities for students to connect with employers, fostering a brighter future for all involved.
