We are pleased to announce the appointment of the next JAG President, Marjorie DeRubeis. Marjorie will officially assume the role on June 1st, 2023, and will work alongside our current President, Graciela Garcia Candia, to ensure a smooth transition and continued success for our organization.

With an impressive track record of leadership and a strong commitment to education and youth empowerment, Marjorie brings a wealth of experience to JAG with over 30 years in academia and fifteen years in the non-profit community. As our new President, she will oversee strategic planning, program development, and community engagement initiatives to further expand our reach and impact throughout Arizona.

Marjorie joins us at a pivotal time, as we continue to make significant strides in helping Arizona's youth overcome barriers and achieve success in education, employment, and personal development. By leveraging a proven model that combines classroom instruction, career-pathway development, and work-based learning experiences, we are a catalyst for positive change in the lives of countless young Arizonans.

"I am honored and excited to join the team at Jobs for Arizona's Graduates," Marjorie said. "I have long admired JAG's commitment to empowering young people and equipping them with the skills and resources necessary for lifelong success. I look forward to working closely with Graciela and the entire JAG community to build upon the incredible work that has already been done."

Graciela, who is retiring next month after 41 years with the organization, has been instrumental in leading JAG to its current level of success. She will continue to be involved, supporting Marjorie's transition, through the end of June. This arrangement will ensure a seamless transition of leadership responsibilities while leveraging Graciela's extensive knowledge and experience.

"We are thrilled to welcome Marjorie to the JAG family," said Graciela. "With her exceptional leadership skills and dedication to youth development, I have no doubt that she will lead JAG to even greater heights. I am confident that our collaboration will drive positive change and transform the lives of countless young people across Arizona."

The staff and JAG Coordinators are looking forward to meeting Marjorie at an upcoming 'Open House' where they can each stop by and get to know the new president a little more. "We're looking forward to the team meeting Marjorie and getting to know her more. We know they will get excited when they see her enthusiasm and hear her story," said Graciela.

As the new President of JAG, Marjorie will work closely with the board of directors, staff members, and community partners to strengthen existing programs and explore innovative opportunities for growth. Through strategic partnerships and collaboration with stakeholders, JAG aims to expand its reach, improve outcomes, and create a brighter future for Arizona's youth.
