JAG Works Mesa Partners with Grad Solutions

JAG Works Mesa partners with Grad Solutions East Valley to bring workforce development opportunities to high school students.
May 10, 2022

On April 20, 2022, JAG Works Mesa and Grad Solutions in East Valley began a workforce development program partnership for high school students and those currently out of school that would most benefit. The ribbon cutting ceremony held at former Power Square Mall, where the East Valley HUB (“Helping Undo Barriers”) resource space is located, brought some students and community leaders, the City of Mesa Mayor, and leaders from JAG and Grad Solutions together to celebrate.

As a supplement to Grad Solutions online curriculum and HUB (“Helping Undo Barriers”) resource space, JAG’s model will be integrated into the students coursework through boundless opportunities to engage in real-world projects, personal development, support from one of JAG’s dedicated program coordinators, and networking with employers through JAG’s vast employer partner network.

After completion of the Grad Solutions program, students who participated in JAG’s opportunities will also be supported for 12 months through the follow-up phase of their JAG journey.

Follow-up is a key component of JAG’s unique model. The program coordinator that developed a mentorship with the students will continue that for 12 months after program completion to support students during their search for jobs and education/training programs.

JAG has 30 high school and community programs established across Arizona in cities such as Avondale, Casa Grande, Coolidge, Eloy, Glendale, Peoria, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Sells, and Wickenburg. Through the partnership with Grad Solutions, JAG will have the opportunity to expand into Mesa and provide even more workforce development resources for students and those out of school who would most benefit.

“I want every young resident in Mesa to have access to education and job opportunities, and I deeply appreciate the JAG programs and the role they can play in career readiness, developing key life skills, and ultimately preparing students to be successful after graduation,” City of Mesa Mayor John Giles said. “I’m so pleased to welcome JAG to Mesa. The partnership with Grad Solutions brings another great partner in helping to build bridges from education to career opportunities.”
