We are delighted to welcome Rachel Yanof to the Board of Directors at Jobs for Arizona's Graduates (JAG). With a remarkable background in education and a passion for creating positive change, Rachel brings a wealth of experience and expertise to JAG.
Rachel's journey in education began after she graduated from Georgetown University and made her way to Arizona in 2003. She joined Teach For America, where she dedicated four years to educating 8th graders in the Roosevelt School District. During this time, Rachel witnessed firsthand the transformative power of education in shaping the futures of young individuals.
Driven by a vision to ensure every student had a pathway to postsecondary success, Rachel went on to design and establish Phoenix Collegiate Academy—a charter school committed to providing quality education for all. Under her exceptional leadership, Phoenix Collegiate Academy flourished, expanding to three schools and serving over 650 students from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade.
Rachel's impact extended beyond the classroom as she became the founding leader of Achieve60AZ, a statewide initiative aimed at increasing postsecondary attainment to 60%. Her dedication to education and workforce development has been unwavering, as she continues to support initiatives that uplift students and families across Arizona.
Rachel's decision to join the Board of Directors at JAG stems from her firm belief in the power of education to transform lives and communities. She sees JAG as an instrumental force in providing students with the tools and opportunities they need to thrive in their academic and professional pursuits.
When asked about her goals and initiatives within JAG, Rachel emphasized her passion for student-focused events. She views every interaction with students as a precious opportunity to make a difference and is eager to support initiatives that prioritize student success and well-being.
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Rachel! Together, we look forward to creating positive change and empowering Arizona's youth to reach their full potential.
