American Family Insurance Dreams Foundation awards $30,000, over the course of three years, to support the delivery of Jobs for Arizona’s Graduates’ curriculum centered around project-based learning, trauma-informed care, and employer engagement.
This unrestricted, general support grant will be used towards our already existing programs and contribute to achieving positive outcomes in graduation rate, employment, and post-secondary education/training.
Our curriculum and events not only introduce transferable skills and experiences, they also support career exploration and professional development that are advantageous for our students/participants as they prepare for life beyond high school.
From the beginning of the year, our events are in full swing. Our students and participants are looking forward to year-round employer engagement presentations, Leadership Development Conferences, Initiation & Installation Ceremony, JAG-A-Palooza, Leadership Camp, Legislative Day, Interviewing Skills Competition, Career Development Conference, and many more. These events complement the curriculum by offering students/participants the experience of applying what they’ve learned in the classroom into real-world scenarios before they graduate.
Along with all of these opportunities for advancement beyond graduation, our dedicated coordinators serve as mentors, coaches, and advisors that ensure each student/participant has the resources and support they may need along their academic, personal, and professional paths.
This year we are expected to onboard six new program sites. We are grateful for this generous award from Dreams Foundation, as it will support our existing programs and the ones that are newly established in these next few years.
