Jobs for Arizona's Graduates staff, student coordinators, volunteers, schools and partners gathered online August 26, 2021, to kick-off the 2021-2022 school year. Highlights included a virtual resource fair featuring partners in 2-minute presentations. Each partner presented their products and services, strengths and any scholarship, internship or career opportunities available to JAG students and alumni.
The day-long virtual meeting included online attendees and in-person groups watching remotely via physical spaces away from school campuses, provided by UTI. Coordinators were given details of on-demand features available through the JAG Genius portal. Partners and coordinators were introduced to a new human resource and classroom training series focused on LGBTQ+ inclusivity, Queer Chats, available digitally this fall.
A favorite feature of the event with attendees was the Wheel of Names, a virtual version of the Wheel of Fortune's iconic prize wheel with the names of all participants listed. Between each presentation, the wheel was spun and a different participant won a prize. Prizes, donated by partners and JAG AZ, ranged from gift certificates to JAG swag.
The event was deemed a success by attendees on social media and in received correspondences. JAG AZ would like to specifically thank the partners for their participation and contributions to the success of this year's Professional Development Meeting.
