Cosmetology Competition Award in Honor of La’Zett Brown-Butler
Please join us in honoring the legacy of a special member of our family. Mother to 10, grandmother and great-grandmother, La’Zett overcame many obstacles as a teen mom. She became a successful entrepreneur in the late 1970s as the owner of La’Zett’s Hair Design, located in the heart of Chicago, Illinois.

HONORING A LEGEND
Throughout La'Zett's career, she was a sought-after personal Cosmetologist and Stylist for many of Chicagoland’s great gospel artists. Retiring after 40 years of service, La’Zett served as a fixture in the community by offering cosmetology services, free classes (basic styling skills) and job opportunities to young ladies and single mothers in the neighborhood. La’Zett has been recognized by the Governor of Illinois for her outstanding service and contributions to the community.
