Partner Spotlight – University of Phoenix

2016-17 JAG Leads Students standing in front of the U.S. Capitol

For the third straight year, University of Phoenix is raising the bar for JAG students through their support of the University of Phoenix Leads Program. The Leads students, selected through a competitive application and interview process, take their leadership training to the next level. Through bi-weekly meetings, Leads receive additional training in leadership development and play a critical role in planning and implementing statewide events including Legislative Day and the Career Development Conference. The Leads represent Arizona JAG students on a State and National level including at the National Student Leadership Academy in Washington D.C. They take the skills and knowledge they obtain back to their individual JAG programs to share with their fellow students.

Along with University of Phoenix’s generous support, a dedicated group of employees donate their time to mentor the Leads students. These mentors help guide, encourage, and support the Leads as well as give them a professional’s perspective on the skills the Leads learn.

Rick with University of Phoenix has mentored Leads students since the beginning of this partnership. “My experience as a JAG Leads Mentor has been so much fun to see the changes that these young people go through from start to finish. I love how dedicated they are, and how they strive to better themselves as they prepare for their future. I have been inspired by their enthusiasm, leadership, and willingness to learn. Often times when I have been with them I would think back when I was their age and how my life’s path would have been different if I would have gotten involved with a program like JAG. Thanks for the priceless adventure!”

Thank you University of Phoenix for another great year of Partnership!
